Celtics to Honor Gorman in Last Regular-Season Game

Boston Legend to Receive Standing Ovation

Longtime Celtics broadcaster Mike Gorman will be honored by the team in their final regular-season game at TD Garden on April 9th.

Gorman, who has been the Celtics' play-by-play announcer for over 30 years, will be presented with a commemorative plaque during a pregame ceremony. He will also receive a standing ovation from the crowd.

"Mike Gorman is a Celtics legend," said Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge. "His voice has been synonymous with Celtics basketball for over three decades, and he has been a part of some of the most memorable moments in franchise history. We are honored to have him as part of our organization, and we are thrilled to be able to honor him in this way."

Gorman began his broadcasting career with the Celtics in 1981. He has called over 2,500 Celtics games, including 17 NBA Finals games. He has also won numerous awards for his work, including the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame's Curt Gowdy Award in 2015.
